L'Eau Dorée draws its inspiration from the rich botanical and historical heritage of Montpellier, a city where nature and knowledge meet.
Here, among the jewels of this heritage stands the magnolia tree whose beauty and fragrance inspired our creation. Native to Asia, this majestic tree flourishes in the gardens of Montpellier, notably in the Jardin des Plantes, the oldest in France, created in 1593. Its large white flowers of striking beauty exude a delicate and captivating fragrance, a true olfactory hymn to femininity. The magnolia owes its name to Pierre Magnol, a 17th-century botanist from Montpellier, whose work marked the history of world botany. A doctor and director of the Jardin des Plantes, he was also one of the pioneers in the classification of plant species. This tree, which still adorns the emblematic promenades of Montpellier, embodies a timeless beauty and a history rooted in elegance.
