eau de cologne.
Odore Scola rethinks cologne in a modern and unique way. Fall for the fresh, light, invigorating and soothing Ecusson Colognes.
Perfect mix between noble raw materials and an alcohol of natural origin, they are produced in our workshop located in Montpellier.
usage tips
Incorporate Ecusson Cologne into your well-being ritual after showering for deliciously scented skin for the whole day.
Did you know that if we perceive it today "simply" as a light perfume, at the end of the 17th century it was considered a miracle cure, it was renowned for its therapeutic virtues and was even recognized by the Academy of Medicine in 1727 as a beneficial product for health
The ritual for wearing perfume is different for everyone, depending on their preferences, habits and tips. Some prefer to perfume their clothes and others directly on the skin.
On the skin, areas allow more intense diffusion. These are the pulsation points, places where the body releases more heat and therefore better diffusion of perfume (inside the wrists, behind the ears, on the back of the neck, on the chest).
Its large 250 ml format will allow you to refill your Cologne Nomade in order to take it everywhere with you.

eau de Cologne for men
The history of Eau de Cologne is a fascinating journey through the centuries, combining art, science and commerce. This fragrant water, originally named "Aqua Mirabilis" or "admirable water", has its origins in the eponymous German town in the early 18th century. This innovative blend of citrus essential oils such as lemon, lime and bergamot, combined with aromatic herbs such as lavender and mint, makes for a complex, non-gendered, fresh lemon bouquet, a subtle fragrance for men and women with a pleasant lemon scent.
This springtime Cologne fragrance, on an alcoholic base, not only preserves the ingredients, but also allows them to be applied lightly to the skin. In those days, the alcohol used to produce perfumes was not denatured as it is today to make it unfit for consumption. It was therefore possible to use it to produce perfumes, drinks and/or therapeutic elixirs. In the 18th century, certain formulations of Eau de Cologne for men and women, although not intended for direct consumption, were often ingested for medicinal purposes or as a tonic. The alcohol contained in these lemony Cologne creations, often produced from the distillation of fermented fruits such as wine, meant that these light men's or women's fragrances were also considered antiseptic or disinfectant solutions. The aromatic herbs added to the preparation were sometimes associated with medicinal properties, and the whole was often presented as a remedy for various ailments, such as headaches, indigestion or even infectious diseases. A rather culinary vocabulary was then often used to describe them: delicate Cologne bouquet, delicate Cologne aroma, elegant aroma for men or women, masculine or feminine spring aroma or subtle masculine or feminine aroma. Over time, understanding of the health risks associated with alcohol consumption and increased regulation led to the exclusive use of Eau de Cologne as an external fragrance, to be sprayed on the skin for its refreshing aromatic properties.
Today, the ingredients in men's fragrance creations are carefully selected to create masculine olfactory compositions, fresh and invigorating fragrances. Citrus fruits, such as lemon, lime and bergamot, provide the lively, zesty notes characteristic of men's lemon fragrances, these essential oils being obtained by cold expression of citrus peels, to preserve their delicate fragrances.
In addition to citrus fruits, which bring fruity Cologne notes and lemony man nuances, other ingredients are often used to enrich the refined Cologne scent. A light lemon fragrance is enriched by lavender accords, which add a subtle floral note to the delicate lemon notes. Cologne's lemony harmony can also be enhanced by cedar, sandalwood and moss accords, for sweeter woody man scents. Spices like cardamom or pepper can be added for a touch of warmth and complexity to the men's woody fragrance. For a discreet masculine fragrance, mint adds a refined menthol freshness.
What distinguishes an Eau de Cologne for men from other types of men's fragrances?
Men's Eaux de Cologne are distinguished from other types of men's fragrances by their olfactory characteristics, concentration of ingredients, history and traditional use.
First, in terms of olfaction, men's Eaux de Cologne are generally characterized by fresh, invigorating and sparkling notes. Several terms could be used to describe them: delicate lemon fragrances, light Cologne scents, lemon spring fragrances, refined Cologne scents, men's fresh waters, men's pleasant compositions, men's fresh accords. These fragrances give off a sensation of cleanliness and lightness, perfect for everyday use or in warm weather.
In terms of ingredient concentration, these light men's compositions have a lower concentration of essential oils than other types of men's eaux parfées. Traditionally, they contain around 2% to 5% odorant concentrate, making the fresh Cologne notes lighter and less tenacious on the skin. This makes them ideal for those who prefer men's light fragrances, men's spring fragrances or men's soft fragrances.
Finally, in terms of usage, men's Eaux de Cologne are often associated with casual, everyday use. Their masculine Cologne nuances bring lightness and freshness, making them popular choices for everyday activities, work or leisure. They are also appreciated for their versatility, as they can be worn at any time of day and in a variety of social contexts.
In short, what distinguishes men's Eaux de Cologne from other types of men's fragrances is their fresh, invigorating character with a delicate lemon scent, their lower concentration of ingredients, their rich history and their traditional use combined with casual, everyday wear.
How to choose an Eau de Cologne for men?
Choosing an Eau de Cologne for men can be a tricky task, as there are so many options on the market. It can be interesting to understand the olfactory families. Eaux de Cologne are often classified according to their olfactory families: citrus/espéridés for a lemon-scented spring Cologne, fruity for a fruity Cologne scent, woody, and so on. Identify the types of perfume you prefer to make your search easier.
Also take your personality into account. A fragrance should reflect your personality and lifestyle. If you're dynamic and adventurous, prefer fresh, energizing fragrances with pleasant lemon scents, for example. If you're more reserved and classic, choose more traditional, elegant fragrances with a masculine woody harmony.
By trusting your personal preferences, it's possible to choose an Eau de Cologne for men that suits you perfectly and may even become your olfactory signature. Why not try an Eau de Cologne by Odore Scola, who has rethought the Eau de Cologne in a modern and singular way.
Are Eau de Colognes for men suitable for all seasons?
Choose an Eau de Cologne suited to the occasion and the season. For example, opt for fresh, light fragrances with spring-like lemon accords during the warmer months, and warmer, woody Cologne accords for winter or formal occasions. And why not fall for Colognes de l'Ecusson? Fresh, light, invigorating and soothing, Gondoles de Délos in particular, with its men's spring scent, is a veritable melody of juicy green notes, with a chorus of fresh mint accompanying a decrescendo of tonka and musky vetiver.
Are Eaux de Cologne for men suitable for all skin types?
Before buying Eau de Cologne, test it on your skin. Perfumes can react differently on each person due to unique body chemistry. Spray a little perfume on your wrist or on a test strip, then leave the men's lemon essence to develop for a few minutes to see how it evolves.
How can I prolong the fragrance of an Eau de Cologne for men?
Extending the life of a man's Eau de Cologne fragrance can be achieved by following a few simple tips.
Apply, spray the masculine lemon formulation on warm areas, on areas of your body where heat helps diffuse the fragrance, such as the wrists, neck, behind the ears and on the chest. These areas emit heat, which can activate the olfactory notes and release them gradually throughout the day.
Store your bottle of Eau de Cologne in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Heat and light can alter the perfume's chemical composition and shorten its shelf life.
Moisturize your skin
Well-moisturized skin retains fragrances better.
Apply Eau de Cologne after showering
After showering, apply a fragrance-free moisturizer to your skin before spraying on your Eau de Cologne. This will create a moisturized base that will help retain the fragrance longer.
Use a body lotion or shower gel to match your Eau de Cologne for a delicate male accord.
Using them together can help reinforce and prolong the fragrance while bringing olfactory consistency to his body care routine.
Avoid rubbing
Avoid rubbing: After applying Eau de Cologne, avoid rubbing the sprayed areas. Rubbing can reduce the fragrance's staying power.
