usage tips
Incorporate Ecusson Cologne into your well-being ritual after showering for deliciously scented skin for the whole day.
Did you know that if we perceive it today "simply" as a light perfume, at the end of the 17th century it was considered a miracle cure, it was renowned for its therapeutic virtues and was even recognized by the Academy of Medicine in 1727 as a beneficial product for health
The ritual for wearing perfume is different for everyone, depending on their preferences, habits and tips. Some prefer to perfume their clothes and others directly on the skin.
On the skin, areas allow more intense diffusion. These are the pulsation points, places where the body releases more heat and therefore better diffusion of perfume (inside the wrists, behind the ears, on the back of the neck, on the chest).
Its large 250 ml format will allow you to refill your Cologne Nomade in order to take it everywhere with you.

Cyprus Eau de Cologne
The precise origin of Eau de Cologne, originally named Kölnisch Wasser, is a matter of debate. According to a popular story, it was created by Feminis, a 17th-century Italian perfumer. Based in Cologne, Germany, Feminis was the first to offer a citrus-based fragrance creation, marketed by his descendants under the name Aqua Mirabilis. While another version of the story attributes the formula of the original Eau de Cologne to Jean-Marie Farina, this Mediterranean fragrance quickly became a resounding success, its lightly fresh olfactory composition contrasting with the musky perfumes popular at the time, such as those worn by King Louis XIV.
This refined fragrance with its fresh, fruity, aromatic trail won over the European courts, notably Napoleon and Empress Josephine, who were fervent fans. At the time, Eau de Cologne, an authentic perfume, was an elixir, and terminology borrowed from the vocabulary of aromaticians is often used: captivating aroma, elegant aroma, sophisticated aroma or exotic aroma.
Today, Eau de Cologne, sometimes referred to as eau fraiche, encompasses a wide range of fragrances, for both men and women, but also gender-neutral. These terms generally refer to citrus-based Mediterranean fragrances, containing between 3% and 6% essence of perfume. These bewitching scents are light and volatile, offering relatively short-lasting wear, thanks to the presence in their formulation of fresh, sparkling citrus notes that make them very pleasant to wear, especially in summer.
Perfumers have revisited the original formula based on citrus extracts (bergamot, citron, lemon, petit grain), sometimes adding aromatic creations (mint), olfactory harmonies of floral accords (violet, jasmine, neroli, orange blossom, lily of the valley, geranium), fruity facets (mandarin orange, grapefruit), woody notes (cedar, sandalwood, patchouli), or even resinous notes, earthy nuances (patchouli), oriental notes, chypre accords or even more original exotic notes (green tea, tonka bean).
So there are many variations of refined eau de cologne, to suit different personalities: sensual, sparkling, floral, fruity, invigorating, refreshing, delicate... It's in this quest for bewitching fragrance that Cyprus Eaux de Cologne have developed.
What is an eau de cologne parfum chypre?
The origin of the term bouquet chypré, an enigmatic scent, dates back to 1917, when it was popularized by perfumer François Coty with the creation of his Chypre (Cyprus) perfume. This revolutionary fragrance was inspired by the scents of the island of Cyprus, known for its aromatic plant essences, exotic essences, flowers and rich vegetation.
The island of Cyprus had a long history of producing essential oils and resins used in perfumery since antiquity. Coty's idea was to capture the olfactory essence of this Mediterranean island, creating a new olfactory family that would become emblematic. The success of this fragrance led to the creation of many other seductive chypre fragrances by other perfume houses, all based on the original structure introduced by Coty.
A closer look at the Cyprus formulation often combines bergamot, patchouli and oakmoss. But this is highly reductive, as today we find floral aldehydic cyprus nuances, cyprus fruity, green chypres, cyprus aromatic, cyprus leathery...
What is a Cyprus Eau de Cologne fragrance?
This sophisticated, intense scent is often characterized by a skeleton that combines fresh, floral notes and woody scents with earthy nuances, a rich, musky base.
What are the typical olfactory notes of a Cyprus Cologne?
The typical olfactory notes of a chypre cologne combine a fresh, invigorating opening with an elegant floral heart and a rich, complex base, offering a balanced, sophisticated fragrance.
Top notes
Typically, a chypre fragrance will feature exquisite scents in the top notes, often citrus fruits such as bergamot, which provide a fresh, sparkling opening. Lemon, orange or grapefruit can also be found, and even sometimes notes of rosemary, thyme or lavender can be present to add a fresh, herbaceous touch.
Heart notes
In the heart notes we'll find a floral bouquet often composed of notes of rose, jasmine or even ylang-ylang to bring it sophisticated scents.
Base notes
Oakmoss is the distinctive note of cyprus perfumes, offering earthy, woody depth. Generally speaking, in base notes Cyprus Eau de Cologne will involve the use of woody formulations, earthy accords with the presence of oakmoss, patchouli, and sometimes animalic notes of labdanum or musky accords borrowed from musk or civet for an intense fragrance.
Additional notes
At once warm and dry, woody and floral, Cyprus Eaux de Cologne are mysterious fragrances of rare elegance. Traditionally built with a citrus note, a floral heart and base notes of patchouli, cistus labdanum or oakmoss, Cyprus Eaux de Cologne take on multiple forms to better seduce us. While these are traditional captivating perfumes, their formula is not immutable, and many additional notes can be used, in particular the addition of aldehydic, fruity or leathery ingredients, for a bewitching formulation. Sometimes, light touches of pink pepper or coriander are used to add complexity without dominating the composition.
How do I choose a cyprus perfume Cologne suited to my preferences?
Choosing a Cypriot essence perfume suited to your preferences is a personal journey. Take the time to explore different samples, consider your preferences and needs, and don't hesitate to ask for advice to increase your chances of finding a chypre fragrance that pleases and enhances your personality.
How to apply Eau de Cologne for a long-lasting effect?
Cyprus Eau de Cologne is a balanced, light, sensual and sparkling fragrance, which we recommend applying to moisturized skin, after showering, when pores are open and skin is clean. It's advisable to target pulse points such as the neck, chest, hollow of the elbow, wrists to ensure good hold and enjoy its Cypriot scents for as long as possible.
Are Eaux de Cologne unisex?
Due to their composition, history and modern perception, Eaux de Cologne are indeed unisex. These light fragrances can appeal to a wide range of people, regardless of gender.
